Explosive new script!
During the first UK lockdown of 2020, I was approached by my good friend Lucas Cull to collaborate on producing content for his YouTube channel. I'd had the title and story for Dockyard Dynamite in mind for a while, and knew that Lucas's access to smoke pellets and explosives would help do the story justice.
I was grateful that Lucas gave me complete creative control when writing this script and allowing me to demand as much action as possible for the events of the story. Of course this episode is heavily inspired by the works of both Gerry Anderson and David Mitton, both of whom were masters of live action model animation; notably for such shows as Thunderbirds and TUGS. Lucas's efforts were second to non, and together I feel we captured a charm and excitement that transcends through each of these shows, that can only be captured in this medium of animation.
On the 5th of December the episode premiered on YouTube, bringing a nostalgic 1990's vibe back to those who grew up with the Thomas the Tank Engine television series. Having received such positive feedback from this, I fully intend on collaborating with Lucas again in future to create something just as exciting.
