Utilising First Year After Effects Skills

A project I created in the first year of university introduced me to the tools and skills needed to manage the puppet pin character creation and the process of animating with a 2D cut out character. For the title of 'The Lady in White' I set out to make it seem like it's a suicide when the audience sees the body underwater. In order to achieve this without making it look odd or out of place, I used puppet pins to tweak the movements of my 2D composition so that her movements would be subtle and fluid, but most importantly incremental.

This shot will also be one of the last shots in the film before the credits to tie together the story so the audience knows exactly who was dumpted in the sea and thus closes the story. I also believe though the image may be created mostly in CGI, it has certainly helped contribute to another variation of shot in this film. There are many images I wanted to emphasise in the film so that they stick in the audience's mind after the film.
