Powerful Imagery: Hair and Dress Animation

Today has been focused on the filming of the second outdoor scene where (in the film) Helena will be growing in confidence. This moment will be paired with the dialogue "A cold heart may never be broken", which I kept in my mind whilst animating. At this point she has reached the dockyard where she stares longingly at the ship she is about to board and for the first time she is centred in the frame rather than being pushed to one side. I knew the movement needed to be in her facial expression rather than her body language so in order to create as much drama as possible I animated her hair and her dress blowing in the wind as she turns her head. The low angle allows her to seem ontop of the world and once this shot is put into the final mix, it should become even more powerful with the dramatic voice-over and the music to accompany her animation.
