'Horizons' - Major Project Concept Noir Artwork
Now working in the film noir style, I decided it best to reflect some of the most iconic pieces of cinematography and interpret the lighting and composition into my story. This specific sketch is based on that of 'The Big Combo' (1955) directed by Joesph H. Lewis and was relevant to the setting within my narrative.

This still image creates a siloette of both characters and has a slightly threatening look to it. The scene within my film will be dealing with the vulnerable status of the female character when she realises her enemy is indeed on the platform. Having studied the way this specific shot picks up light and establishes shapes is indeed useful when I consider lighting my scene and controlling the steam from the engine on the platform. What I wish to achieve from my film is not only a montage of tragedy and hope, but a tribute to a golden age of cinema that should never be forgotten.
