Semiotics, shapes and shadows
Today involved experimenting with shapes associated with Christmas using materials to create the illusion when projected. Most of the objects were made from wire, foil, cling film and paper. From this test footage of a quick light pan around the space, the shapes created in shadows formed an image of Halloween rather than Christmas, especially through the speed and inperfection of the animation itself. After reviewing the process as a group, we concluded that in order to progress from experimenting, the movement of the projection must be gentle and elegent in comparison with the fluidity of the test.
